Made Hello Kitty Oden today.
Its so simple, took me just 20mins to pack everything together this morning as I cooked the oden soup last night.
Oden is actually more of a winter dish and consists of common items such as the konjac, daikon, egg can fish cakes in a light dashi soy broth.
But its summer now! hahaha.
Didn’t really care much since I really wanted to (1) use the new mini Hello Kitty hotpot I bought recently, (2) cook the Hello Kitty fish cake!
I got this super cute single-pax size Hello Kitty mini hotpot from Seimon-Cho. The Hello Kitty shape lid is just too cute!
The fish cakes are so cute too right? Today is a lazy creation as this Hello Kitty print fishcakes comes like this. I bought them at a Japanese supermarket in Taipei while on vacation.
I love the mildly sweet light soy dashi broth of the oden. So flavourful and so comforting.
Served this Hello Kitty oden dish with some sanuki udon noodles.
Today is all about using cute utensils to serve up a cute meal. No time to make bento, get some cute dishes to brighten up your meal then :)
