2015 is also the year of Sheep! So today I made a fun and yummy Sheep Bento for breakfast.
Are you the white sheep or the black sheep? Heheh
A simple but very cute Sheep Bento that only took about 30mins – great for mornings when you need a little more Zzz.
For this Sheep Bento, I cooked yaki-udon (fried Japanese udon noodles) with vegetables as the main dish. I then added some small details such as the grass patch which was lettuce, and flowers made from carrots and egg sheet.
I also used some of my flora bento picks, sheep bento pick and sheep design baran sheets.
The Sheep characters in this bento where made from hanpen (Japanese fish cake) that has mentaiko (cod roe) fillings… yummy!
These hanpen come in cute round shapes, so I simply wrapped one in seaweed for the black sheep and added in the details of the head, feet and eyes.
White Sheep – kombu seaweed for head, feet, seaweed for eyes
Black Sheep – seaweed for body and eyes, thin egg sheet (egg white only) for the head and feet
This was a fun bento to make! Can’t wait to make more sheep bento~~
